What is an OH&S Risk Identification Audit?

RISK IDENTIFICATION IS REQUIRED BY LAW! (eg. QLD Workplace Health & Safety Act 1995, Section 27A)

A Risk Identification/Compliance Audit is an inspection of your premises/workplace and a written report for you to use which identifies hazards and assists you to assess the risks and consequently implement a Health & Safety Programme/Plan of Action.

Q. What sort of things do you look at?

A. We consider general issues such as Workplace Design, Building compliances, Ergonomics, General Access, Parking, Amenities, Refuse Disposal, Fire Protection, Emergency Evacuation Procedures, Manual Handling, Environmental Issues, Drainage, Sewerage, Power and Gas, Slip, trip and fall hazards, Lighting, Walkways and Roadways, Staff Duties, Storage and use of Chemicals, Use and maintenance of Equipment, Dusts and fumes, Swimming Pool compliance, Playground compliance, Buildings and structures, WorkCover, reporting and recording, monitoring and review to name just a few. We also address any specific operations and there are approximately 25 Headings (60 odd pages).

Q. How much does it cost?

A. Usually, Professional Audits of this calibre cost around $6600.00. However we are able to do some Industry Specific Reports for a negotiated special discount rate  (approx 50%) which is claimable as an input, where you are a Q-Parks member and others are participating in your area.   Members of other Associations can receive discounts also and smaller business operations are quoted on a case by case basis.

We may require you to provide overnight accommodation and pay for travel expenses but there are no other fees for phone or office expenses.

You only need pay a deposit with booking and we will send you a Tax Invoice for the balance when we send your documents with payment terms of Net 7 days.

Q. Will an Audit like this add value to my business?

A. Yes! Not only will your business increase upon the promotion of your proactive safety culture but the value of your business will be greatly enhanced by the pre-existence of this important management history. In addition, you would automatically qualify for a premium discounts/benefits on your Insurance. Some businesses have recently reported savings between six and twenty thousand dollars in one premium!

Q. What do I need to do?

A. Request a Health & Safety Risk Identification Audit at the special rate by completing our Order Form. Re-audits are also required to maintain your Risk Management program and act as a regular update (usually annually) on your existing Audit Report and cost approximately half of the full audit fee. Legislation changes regularly and a re-audit will keep your program up to date so you can continue to benefit from lower Insurance costs.

Q. How long does it take?

A. Our on-site inspection can take up to 3 hours to audit against our Audit Checklist criteria for a first time Audit.  A Re-audit takes approximately half that time. We then need to speak with the Owner or Manager of the business to find out how some duties are carried out.  This interview generally takes up to 1 hour.  In some instances we will interview some employees to find out more information and this generally would take approximately 20 minutes.  Then back at our Office we compliance reference with relevant Legislation and type up your report.  This usually takes 5 working days to draft, be reviewed and presented for delivery to you by post.  If we have several to do from one area, it will take a week for each report and we send them out as they are completed so you may not receive your report within one week.  If your require your report urgently there is provision on our Order Form to let us know.
