Asbestos
Asbestos Auditing is required by the Legislation and a recent National Code of Practice 2005 was introduced.

In order to comply, all WORKPLACES built prior to 1990 must be inspected by a suitably qualified person.  If asbestos is identified/presumed, samples must be taken, tested and a laboratory report obtained.

In addition, an Asbestos Containing Materials (ACM) Register must be drawn and held on the premises with annual re-inspection (sooner if damage occurs) and update of the Register.  A report must be held (Asbestos Safety Management Plan).

If damage occurs, the offending sheet must be removed (appropriately) and replaced with a non-asbestos material.  You cannot simply repair/seal anymore.

Worklaw can identify asbestos as part of our general Workplace Hazard Identification Audit.  If we identify asbestos containing materials, you will need to consider our Asbestos Audit service.  We can take necessary samples for qualified testing and provide you with all necessary written documentation (Safety Plan and ACM Register).  Please ask us for a quote
contact us.

Please note: Samples of suspected asbestos must be taken by an 'Asbestos B' licensed person and tested by approved laboratory.  We can take samples for you and send to Lab. Lab sampling cost is $88.00 per sample.  These costs will be added to our quoted rate and invoiced separately.

Please note we do not wish to undertake asbestos removal work.

Annual re-inspection is required by Law.
